Andrew Walther
Apostolate for Holy Relics - Vice President

Andrew Walther is Vice President for Media, Research, and Development at the Supreme Office of the Knights of Columbus. In this capacity, he oversees the many of the organization’s strategic initiatives in the areas of publishing, public opinion research and polling, research, marketing, online outreach and communications.

Prior to working at the Knights of Columbus, Mr. Walther taught for several years in the writing program at the University of Southern California, where he was awarded the University’s excellence in teaching award in 2004.

As a journalist, Mr. Walther has written scores of articles for newspapers, magazines and websites in the United States and Europe over the past decade.

In 2000, Mr. Walther organized the first Cardinal O’Connor Conference at Georgetown University – now in its eleventh year – which draws students from colleges around the country to hear from some of the most influential leaders in the pro-life movement.

Mr. Walther has also helped spearhead the fight against the online sales of religious artifacts and racist paraphernalia, and working with the ICHRusa has brought the problem to light in more than 300 media outlets including the Washington Post, the Associated Press, WABC TV, and Fox News Channel. He has also worked to increase awareness and veneration of Catholic relics. In 2003, Mr. Walther organized the “Tilma of Tepeyac” tour, which brought the only piece of the cloth on which the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is imprinted in the United States to more than 20 U.S. dioceses.

In addition to serving on the board of NOPARH/Project Rachel, Mr. Walther currently serves on the boards of the Ulysses S. Grant Foundation at Yale University and is Vice President of the Apostolate for Holy Relics in Los Angeles, California, which he cofounded. He previously served for several years on the board of American Collegians for Life (now Students for Life) in Washington, D.C.

For his volunteer and civic work, Mr. Walther has been awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award, the for his work with cultural and religious artifacts, he has been named to the Order of Sao Miguel de Ala by the Royal House of Portugal and the Order of the Dragon of Annam by the Royal House of Vietnam.

Mr. Walther holds both a Bachelor’s Degree, Magna cum Laude, and a Master’s Degree in Classics from the University of Southern California, where he is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
